Costumes Photoshoot Behind the Scenes / Seefestspiele Mörbisch

This is compiled version of over 2 hrs of footage taken during special photo session at the stage of Seefestpiele Mörbisch in August 2015. We were shooting pictures for this year "Viktoria und ihr Husar" with main characters.
Afterwards I recorded short a-walk-through the setup I used.

Challenging Grey Morning with Filters and Long Exposure

It is not always we get nice photography weather, beautiful light. Actually most of the time is the opposite, and this is what happened yesterday. Cloudy, hazy, grey morning. Nevertheless I had certain picture in mind and decided to drive to the Danube river just outside of Vienna anyway.
I was after silky water, river bank covered with stones adding lots of texture, and hoped for nice sky with patchy clouds.

More Canon 35mm f1.4 II Talk [CR2]

We’re told that the eagerly anticipated Canon 35mm f1.4 II is now being tested by select photographers and should be to market within the next 6 months. An announcement date hasn’t yet been set, but expect it some time in 2015.

The new lens will have the latest coatings from Canon, dust and weather resistant, a smaller filter thread (67mm?), and will be physically longer than the current version. The difference in weight wasn’t known, but I suspect it’ll be very close to the current lens.

Canon’s latest Rebels didn’t launch without issue, as a select number of the first batch of cameras needed a service advisory. Now that Canon has taken care of that, these feature rich entry level DSLRs from Canon are showing some good promise.

CANON 5D MARK IV TESTING HAS BEGUN [CR2] | MAY 19, 2015 | CANON DSLR RUMORS

We’re told test bodies for the EOS 5D Mark IV have made their way to select photographers. The timeline for an announcement is still some time in Q4 of 2015. While there has been talk about a new DIGIC processor for the EOS-1D X Mark II, it is unknown if the Conon 5D Mark IV will see the rumored DIGIC 7 processor as well. If it doesn’t, one can assume that the EOS-1D X Mark II won’t come soon after the EOS 5D Mark IV and will likely fall into the winter of 2016, with availability coming soon after. 2016 is an Olympic & Euro year, with the summer games being held in August and Euro beginning in September. 2016 is a Photokina year as well, which also comes in September.

REVIEW: CANON EF 50MM F1.2L

The Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens is still available from Amazon buy here while stock lasts Canon EF 50 mm f/1.8 II Lens

Sometimes it’s nice to get a new perspective on an older lens. The Canon EF 50mm f1.2L might be one of the most polarizing lenses in the Canon lineup, some can’t live without it, while others wish it never existed. The contrasting opinions of the lens are usually because of the focus shift that some photographers experience with it. Certain shooting styles make the issue more prevalent for some.

Friend of the site Dustin Abbott has completed his thorough review of one of my favourite lenses in the Canon lineup. I love the EF 50mm f/1.2L as well as the EF 50mm f/1.0L. I think I just have a fetish for fast 50’s!

Dustin has this to say about the 50L when compared to the competition:

The biggest threat to the Canon 50L has been the release of the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 ART lens. TheZeiss Otus 55 f/1.4 (review coming next week) remains the class leader since its introduction, but its dizzying price (nearly $4000) and lack of AF means that it will stay off most photographer’s radar. The Sigma, however, has image quality that charts much better than the 50L’s along with autofocus, although it can struggle with focus accuracy and consistency. It also retails for about a third less than the 50L (which retails for $1450 when not on sale). You can read my review of the Sigma here. Is it the better lens? It is certainly sharper and has better contrast, but I’m not convinced that it has as “magical” a drawing/look as the 50L.

I agree with most of what Dustin says in his review and I’d recommend the EF 50mm f/1.2L to anyone.

DXOMark has completed their review of the EF 24-105 f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens.

From DXOMark

Despite ranking behind the more expensive Sigma and Canon pro L competition, the new 24-105mm STM standard zoom offers respectable results across the board. But if you can afford to shell out an extra $300 for the $899 Sigma 24-105mm f/4, you’ll certainly benefit from better edge sharpness at the wider aperture settings, a faster fixed f/4 aperture when shooting at 105mm, and better light transmission, too.

Canon EOS 7D Mark II

Canon EOS 7D Mark II

Canon EOS 7D Mark II

We’re told by a couple of people that Canon has internally acknowledged an autofocus issue with the Canon EOS 7D Mark II. No official announcement will be made by Canon until they determine whether or not the issue can be resolved with a firmware update or if it will require the camera to visit a service center. All signs point to the former, but the issue has yet to be fully resolved.

There was no mention whether or not the AF issue affects all cameras, and we don’t want to speculate on this either.
